We are very excited to announce that the new 2012 introductions have arrived into our warehouse! Two great old big pallets of houses and accessories were received in our warehouse earlier this week and we are very excited about the way the new villages look! Unfortunately, this is just the Spring pre-pack, so inventory is pretty low; some of the new houses are already sold out for Spring and we are waiting until June for them to get huge amounts of stock in. One of these great new houses is the Snow Village Halloween - Mordecai Mansion, which is unfortunately already out of stock. One of the biggest sellers though, the Snow Village Halloween - Travis Louis' World Of Otherworldly Persons is still in stock, albeit in very slim quantities. The latter is a special event item and is thought to be one of the biggest hits of Department 56 in 2012. As always, the new Halloween items are super fun and they look extremely scary and very well made.
Also very popular every year are the new Dickens' Village pieces; the most popular one so far is the Dickens Village - The Partridge & Pear. This house is especially beautiful because of its charming copper painted roof top on the little tower-room. That accent makes this house so special, and it embodies what Department 56 is all about: adding subtle, yet distinct details to make the houses even more beautiful and more appealing.

We are very excited to introduce a new line of Figurines for Department56Corner.com! we are introducing Charming Tails, which are cute little mice in funny situations. To start of we have a select assortment of mice, focusing on the Spring theme, and everyday funny Charming Tails mice. The charming tails are very funny and we are sure that we have a little mouse for every occasion.
The mice are perfect for little gifts, the prices for the mice are very reasonable and start around $20. Most mice are around 3 to 4 inches tall and wide. There are some taller ones of course, like I said before: there is a Charming Tails mouse for every occasion!
Of course, we haven't forgotten about the time of the year, so we got the cutest and the nicest Spring Collection Charming Tails available. There are some really nice Irish mice as well. Especially the mouse in the hat depicted here on the right, I found to be very funny and original. We are very happy to announce that the Spring Charming Tails have just come into our warehouse, and are ready to be shipped. For your convenience, we added the amount available on our website so you know exactly how many you can buy without having to wait for your little gift(s).
Besides the little mice, we also have a small assortment of the Charming Purrsonalities! These super fun figurines depict everyday situations, or celebrations with a cat instead of a mouse in it. These little cats find themselves in roughly the same kind of situations, but then geared towards kittens. They are equally cute though! As the year progresses, and we see how people react to the little kittens and the little mice, we will expand our collection, and our inventory. We are very pleased with the way these little new additions look, and we are super happy with the Spring Collection. It just looks so funny and cute!

Spring is upon us! And boy do we love to be out of the Winter cold season. Here in Virginia we got a little cold spell the other day, with quite some snow and a lot of disruption, but luckily no bad storms...
In the long cold Winter months we took the time to update the newest and latest Snowbabies! We actually expect the first ones to come in pretty soon now, so keep an eye out for these new introductions!
We've also updated the look and feel of the snowbaby area on our website, so it's easier for you to find the perfect snowbaby for yourself or to give as a special gift to somebody.
There are a total of 7 new 'collections' in the Snowbaby area: there are the classic Snowbabies, the ever expanding 'SnowDream' snowbabies, the guest collection (with Snowbabies from Disney and other cartoons or classics), there are the ornaments, the accessories, and the annual collectible animals. This years annual collectible animal are two Polar Bear Cubs
As a change from last year, we've now put these two lovely animals into a set, and this way you actually save money! The two bears are each two inches tall and three inches long. They make a very nice addition to any snowbaby collection. We like to have ours out all year and put the little bears by themselves on the mantle. It looks really cute.
If you like the collectible animals from the Snowbabies collection, you may also be interested in the new for 2012 Spring animals that we also sell in a set. The little lambs are about two and a half inches tall and are standing on a green, grass, speckled platform. It's getting closer to the Easter season, and all our snowbunnies are limited in quantity. We are getting very good feedback from our customers about the new Spring snowbunnies, people say they are funny, cute, and original. I personally like the colorful addition to the bunnies, it makes them look very cheerful. Isn't that what everyone wants this time of the year?

It's time for the new introductions! There are so many new items and so many exciting story lines that i don't know where to begin. So i think it's best to introduce the year piece by piece, and we'll start with Christmas In The City.
I'm quite excited about this, since i actually have a Christmas in the City Village at home so i take an extra special and good look at these specific pieces. I'm really happy what dept56 has achieved this year. One of the cool features of this year, is that they made a special little selection of inner city shops; if you look at the 'new Christmas in the City list you'll see that Wakefield Books, Rachael's Candy Shop and the Atwater's Coffee House really belong with each other. You can put them in a row, or in a street and it will look like a real shopping street, with a coffee place, a book store and a candy shop. I think that is really nice and it really brings the line back to it's core: to create a real live city!
The image in the top left of this blog is the movie theater, and you can see that piece as an anchor of a shopping street, it will look really fun to see that lit up! Fun fact about the Fox Theater: the red and blue lines at the front of the building actually light up! It's a new neon light that Department 56 uses this year and may use more if it works out the way we all want it to. Soon we'll add a little movie, or a secondary image to the item so you can see what it looks like. Here we're very excited about this. Too bad it's still so far away until we can setup our houses :)
